Attic Mold

Homeowners don’t usually look in their attics, but attics are by far the most common place we find mold. Black mold in attics is commonplace, and mold will frequently cover the roof joists and decking. It is important to address this mold issue for health and liability reasons, as it will only get worse and more expensive to repair with time. Since attic mold is outside the everyday living envelope, it may be considered to be less cause for irritation. However, many people susceptible to molds will be affected by mold in the attic.

Bleach or primer does not kill black toxic mold, and it is also important to consider that the mold spores may have infected the surrounding areas and/or insulation, so professional mitigation and mold remediation is needed.

Restoration King is your attic mold removal specialist and we have the experience and latest equipment to mitigate these difficult areas. Restoration King will also diagnose the reason why mold occurred in the first place (i.e. improper ventilation) and fix the problem in order to prevent mold from reoccurring.

How do molds affect people?

Some people are sensitive to molds. For these people, exposure to molds can cause symptoms such as nasal stuffiness, eye irritation, wheezing, or skin irritation. Some people, such as those with serious allergies to molds, may have more severe reactions. Severe reactions may occur among workers exposed to large amounts of molds in occupational settings, such as farmers working around moldy hay. Severe reactions may include fever and shortness of breath. Some people with chronic lung illnesses, such as obstructive lung disease, may develop mold infections in their lungs.
